Level 4 for Independent Kiddos
Pre-Piano Class (Ages 4.5 – 6.5*)
You’ve always wanted to give your child the best start—and this class is designed to do just that! Our Pre-Piano program combines music and movement with playful activities that also support early learning in areas like language, social-emotional growth, early math, literacy, coordination, creativity, and more.
Together, we’ll explore the magical worlds of Opera, Dance, and Orchestra, while learning about famous composers like Mozart, Beethoven, and John Philip Sousa. Children also begin to build a strong musical foundation through the introduction of basic music terms, note reading, and rhythm skills—paving the way for school success and future private lessons.
Each month, caregivers are invited to join in the fun during a special shared class time. And the learning doesn’t stop there—our Kindermusik@Home digital materials let the whole family enjoy class music, monthly stories, and engaging activities all week long!
*Children who have completed Level 3 may be eligible to join early at age 4 with teacher approval.
What to Expect in Level 4
Level 4 is designed for our growing musicians—curious, expressive, and ready to dive deeper into the world of music! Here’s what you and your child will enjoy together:
🎶 Singing & Self-Expression
From our cheerful Hello Song to the sweet Goodbye Song, your child will have plenty of chances to develop a confident singing voice, build pitch-matching skills, and express feelings through song.
🥁 Instrument Exploration
Hands-on play with instruments like rhythm sticks, bells, and drums helps fine-tune motor skills and listening abilities, while reinforcing steady beat. At this level, children are also introduced to more advanced instruments, including the glockenspiel, recorder, dulcimer, and keyboard—all in a playful, age-appropriate way.
🕺 Creative Movement
Movement is a key ingredient in all Kindermusik classes, and it truly shines in Level 4! Children learn to listen deeply, feel the music, and express themselves through movement. Music and movement together are powerful tools for learning and self-awareness.
🎼 Musical Concepts & Composers
Children begin exploring important musical concepts and applying them in class activities. Along the way, we’ll meet some of music’s greatest composers and discover their timeless works in fun, meaningful ways.
🎹 Pre-Keyboard Activities
We start laying the groundwork for formal music instruction with pre-keyboard learning, including basic musical vocabulary, keyboard geography, and rhythm recognition. These foundational skills help ease the transition into future lessons.
🏠 Kindermusik@Home
Your digital home materials are packed with songs, stories, and activities that match each class theme—perfect for extending the joy and learning all week long. It’s an easy, fun way to stay connected to what your child is experiencing in class.
